If you are on PLD and don't have both Shield and Sword (Zenith) unequiped and it doesn't work for you.. I have no clue.

I forgot to upgrade the shield to Zenith.

lol I bet that is a relief, that would of sucked if it was bugged for you >_>.

As a PLD, you don't have to have the Zenith shield equipped, but you do need to have it upgraded to a Zenith (from my understanding, and which you already figured out). But, you don't have to have that shield equipped when FATE grinding.
