Honestly the gil issue is troubling me.
(Not meaning design of the total economic cycle but the gil the players have saved, usage rate)
In patch 1.19 3country Airship/Chocobo Related/Materia Craft/Recipe improvements should increase ways to utilize the gil.
But we cannot forecast how the gil will move for the huge amount of gil.
So in patch 1.19 expanding methods to consume more gil, and watch. We are already working on this.

So I wondered how much gil do people actually have? There were rumors of the early Blacksmiths and Goldsmiths were able to net close to a billion gil.

I myself stuck with Alchemy but was always just behind the guys who were able to sell glue for like 100k each. But still made a killing on dye in the early days before the cloth buff/alch nerf... sidestory aside, Yoshi's post tickled my brain and I was just curious.

I have like 200k.

Screenshots be damned, I'm poor-ish and you know it.

Since there's not much to spend gil on we're all rich or poor depending on what you think the value of gil is.

I can't buy a full set of R40 gear unless someone severely undercuts prices.

about 2.1 mil mil last I logged on. IN comparison, at this point in my FFXI career I had no more then 100k at any given point in time <,<

I may post a SS later, Main PC isn't on atm and I'm about to head out to do a couple things.

I only have like 1 mil gil; if there's people with billions then I can see the economy being completely ruined for new and/or casuals.

I hope they introduce some kind of alternate currency like marks or something else.

i know an easy way to get out all the cash of the game!

Why are you so poor i craft alot and am sittin at nearly 6mil without trying rofl, i npc lots and sell very little. I just do alot of leves n alot of crafting... only just started leveling my mages ... if i actually crafted specific stuff to sell in wards i could be on 10 times the amount but not alot to buy and i like crafting how i do so im cool.... u though if u wnat gil u need to pick a craft n do it lol or tons of leves lol

I have 19 mil and my wife has about 20 mil. I know there are plenty of people with 100 million +
Didnt Latereg say he almost had gil cap like a month ago?

Tens of millions - that said there are people on my server far richer then me.

I made nearly 4 million on brass rings alone when the game started so I believe this.
