Truth about Echo
Im sure some people have had good experiences with it in the past 24 hours, others not so much.
I am the latter.
Echo isnt making anything easier. No amount of echo can make up for pure skill and knowledge. Case in point: Titan ex. Our best run was our first run. Before we wiped, i heard "last a little bit longer so we get the echo buff"
Never heard the end of it.
I built enough echo buff HP @ 25% to allow me to tank WP as a Monk. We had backwards progression. Echo is making people not care about the first few runs and its making them careless.
Dress a bad player in i155 gear. If they're bad, they're bad
Those of us who can clear such content have done so by means of trial and error. Trial and error. and more trial and error. We did not get babied.

I second this, all the titan runs I've done today are completely content with wiping after the first 2 phases because "Echo will carry us the last one" without actually realizing you should be able to get past heart without echo. If you need echo to get past heart, you're not going to stand a chance with phase 4.
I was healing a run, we got to 25% echo buff, and eventually the plan became "Spread out, eat your own plume and let healers heal through it" because echo let them safely not die during it.

Titan hm I can see benefitting from the echo because often times breaking the heart is an issue. For titan ex breaking the heart is almost never the issue (unless the dps is dead) the main issue seems to be dodging which no amount of echo buff can fix. They could make it increase all your stats by 10,000% if you get hit by landslide your still out

Are you really surprised?
Anyone with a brain knew before the patch even hit that Titan isn't a fight that Echo was going to make any easier.
-
It still depends on the skill of people, but it does make it more forgiving. I was going through Garuda HM, Titan HM, Ultima HM and Mogry HM and overall the echo did definitely help. For example Titan HM became doable @5 stacks with the 6 people that had the necessary skill/latency (yes, basically from the 1 minute point 2 of our DDs would fall from the platform nearly each try^^).
It also helped us survive aoe damage longer, lessens the strain on heal if the tank is a bit undergeared etc.
I'll give you that it's by no means a cakewalk, at least the core of the group needs to know what they're doing.

Maybe we could offer a suggestion to allow a Duty Finder option that allows one to go into an instance with Echo disabled. Since the manner in which it is implemented is forcing it down the throats of players that may prefer not to use it. Heck I was playing with an alt and was sloppy during one of the main story quest and upon trying it a second time it gave me echo, I quickly turned it off but it was rather discouraging to have echo applied after only one death.

If u have latency issues u are automatically doomed in titan ex.
Unless u r a tank that is..
But hell! 9/10 times there's a dps or 2 that dies due to lag and it just makes it look so sad when they are a bard and have echo buff (25%).
Seriously... Bard + max echo buff = so easy to deal with plumes and dodging yet they die 1st usually lol!
But when dps becomes too high at 25%, gaol phases in titan ex become a huge problem, as the dps will just go nuts and spam every attack when me and the tanks and the other healer r saying slow down. But dps gets power hungry and proceed to break gaol like there's no tomorrow/ hit titan.
The sweet spot for echo is like 10%.
Just enough stat boosts to complement u and not make u into a power crazy fool at 25%.

Did a Titan HM Duty Finder for the heck of it in the morning.. Party wiped 3 times making Echo Buff 40%.
One SCH couldn't dodge, and the PLD had no idea how to start hate build, even though I gave him a quick summary on what to do quickly.
Ironically I actually never got KO'd in the fight, I was always the last person standing (in a Gaol) so it'd end the fight. Lol.

It has changed the dynamics of fighting but Im not complaining about it like some I saw in battle yesterday did.
If I EVER go into a battle where someone says "lets get to 3 mins and wipe for buff stack" then I will leave that party, but yesterday I helped in Titan HM and saw people really trying.
Heart phase was completed on all runs, but after the first wipe an ilvl90 DRG started to complain about the echo, well 2 things:
1. What are you doing in there if not to help people?
2. What difference does it make to you? this content is yesterdays news at your level.
Some parts of this game will not be possible even with a full stack, yes it may need tweaking at some point, but for now its too early to complain.

Why kill something in 10 minutes, when you can wipe for 15 and then kill it in 5 right? Seems to be most peoples approach to it. Make the fight take longer so you don't have to try as hard.
