Paladin and relic fates?

After doing about 50 fates I've decided on paladin I either have A) horrible luck, or B) both relic sword and shield have to be equipped?
Can someone please confirm if both main hand and off hand relics have to be equipped to advance the quest?

I'm no Paladin, but I would play on the side of safety and keep both equipped personally. Lol.

Keep both equipped...seeing how both the sword and sheild were upgraded to zenith at the same cost of any other class's single weapon.

Honestly... why would you even have chanced it? it's not like you need your Alagan or primal weapons/shield do grind these fates.

i hope i can help you clarify this.
as a pld, u just need to have your weapon equipped, doesnt matter what shield you using.
for me im using relic sword and onion shield, took me 1st try on east shroud and north shroud abt 5th fate...
so in conclusion is all abt RNG.

That's nice to know as I never zenith my holy shield and use primal shield instead.

By the way, can we progress the quest without holy shield zenith?

You need the shield +1 and sword +1 to upgrade. So make sure to +1 your shield first. Just got it.
