THIEF AND/OR NINJA hinted at in 2.2 story for 2.3? (very minor spoilers)

In the story mode you'll notice the agility with which Yugiri (the new mystery character in purple) and thancred fight.

Later on though, Yugiri mentions that she is skilled in this combat art and would not mind teaching it to others. She mentions this in a non-voice ccutscene, so you'd have to be one who actually reads all the text and not speed through lol she also mentions that she noticed that thancred's technique is similar to hers, but she noticed a few differences.

Thancred mentions a "secret fraternity" which teaches the combat art as well. Minfillia jokingly mentions how Thancred used to run with criminals. Yugiri even directly offers you to be her student once she trains more with the fraternity after her and a guildmate of thancred's mention their similar focus on fighting in the shadows and using stealth.

Is SE hinting at Ninja with Yugiri's willingness to teach her art and Thief with Thancred's mention of a "secret fraternity?

Will they be 2 separate jobs? Or will they start as thief from Thancred's "secret fraternity" (thieves guild) and have Yugiri handle the Ninja job quests? Will it be revealed for 2.3? Or 1st expansion?

I'm excited!! I know it's only the 1st day of 2.2 patch and there's PLENTY to do, but ninja is the one job i want to be the most ;)

That's cool. I'd certainly like to see them implemented.

Yea if these aren't hints to what's coming next then I don't know what is lol

Maybe one/both will be a job stemming from the pugilist class.

I appreciate them giving hints about the new race and new class/jobs. Makes me excited about the expansion.

I hope not. Honestly i do not want to be using true strike and bootshine as a ninja. No shadow or stealth inspiration/feeling in that imo.

Hopefully so .I know when it releases I wont be monking anymore ;). It's the closest thing I have to ninja for now though

Agreed. It'd have to be some kind of dual wielding (blades) class.

Nice info. Seems like an SE style hint. If Thief and Ninja (Melee Support and Tank?) would be the jobs I wonder what the class would be. Rogue might be a little.....you know.

I hope not as well, but there is a natural progression there, especially for theif. Mug is a pugilist type of ability. Also, SE has set a prescident with both SMN and SCH coming from the arcanist class. You could do the same thing with gladiator> dark knight, thaumaturge> red mage, conjurer> blue mage, archer> ranger. You get the idea.

But yes, having a brand new class/job with brand new base abilities would be more fun.
