If Liberator is for Dragoon, does that say something about the future of Dark Knight?

in FFXI, Liberator, was a Mythic Weapon acquired by Dark Knights, however it appears that this is the new weapon being released from Dragoon.

I'm getting the impression more and more that Dark Knight doesn't have much place in this game any time soon. So much of what made Dark Knight in previous games seems to have been spread between Warrior and Dragoon already.

Anyone else see Dragoon being the replacement for DRK? (particularly since it's not a pet job)

DRK was in the least voted category, so I don't think it's having much priority at this moment.

DRK will use a greatsword. Scythes are boring, especially with the way fighting is in XIV.

I rather see them using a long sword two handed style over that great sword. Leave the GS to the rune fencer.

I'm pretty sure a Katana/Long Sword will be for SAM.

DRK in FF history has been always an HP-absorb/consume DPS with debuffs. Not to mention the Dark element damage. (FF only has the 6 basic ones, missing non-elemental, light and dark).

There is no way a DRG would have any link with a DRK, DRG is a pure DPS with a burst damage style which skills are not Dark Elemental and they don`t have anything HP related by the exception of Power Surge. Now through history all classes have been always being diferent, sometimes a few diferences, other times big diferences (like XI and XIV Dragoon or FF standart Warrior with XIV Warrior) so this is not something that says anything about DRK.

It is just a name, maybe it will be a scythe looking spear.

Based on that, I'm still waiting for PUP :P Though if they ever did, it'd just be half-assed and play like every other DD, knowing how SE is doing things in XIV :/ Example being smn, it's just a half assed rdm with a meh pet

I personally dislike the idea of RUN using a GS, I know that's how it was in XI but imho they should use a thin long sword. What with fencers being duelists and all.
