But when is tank queues instant? my tank is 40, and so far I have at least 2 - 5 min wait times. I thought it was instant. Is it only at 50?

I usually get instant queues on duty roulette.
wait tends to be slightly longer for 8-man fights.
DR queue should be instant. If you are queuing for a specific instance, you will wait a bit no matter what class you are.
Its server- and time- specific. Sometimes you can get [2/2] [-] [4/4] in DF. Once (i've even screenshotted!) it was [2/2] [2/2] [3/4] for like 10 minutes, before one of the tanks decided to drop from queue. xD But most of the time? [0/2] [2/2] [4/4]. Or [-] [1/1] [2/2] if light party.
