So, are we ever getting Grand Company Questlines?

And I don't mean like random missions or unlocking Amdapor and such. I mean like an actual storyline that is different for each Grand Company ala the Rank 1-10 Missions in FF XI which had you interact with and learn more about that nation's characters and backstory (You could switch nations like you can switch Grand Companies and experience all the stories). These questlines would even include what would be the equivalent of Duty Instance bosses at intervals, not just the standard quest fare (Though those quests certainly were a part of it and I would expect them to be here as well). Right now being in a Grand Company really feels like it has no purpose except for when you're leveling from 1-50 for the first time when the gear is actually worth having and you haven't grinded dungeons enough for alternatives. I'd like to see some actual meaning ascribed to them beyond another place for tokens to be exchanged, am I alone in this?

Perhaps in 2.3, or whenever it is they add the rest of the ranks.

This has bothered me for ages, there is much more they could do with the Grand Companies yet they have not mentioned anything. They really do need their own fleshed out storyline for each nation for starters as at the minute I think there is only about 3 quests for them.

well it would be exactly the same as FFXI Rank 1-6 is part of the main story and 7-10 is split. so in FF14 up to 2nd LT is tied to the MSQ but after that it will split. so we will start getting that when the ranks go up.

The closest thing (IMO) that we have to Grand Company questlines are the quests that you undertake when you initially arrive in your starting city at the beginning of the game. They have some overlap, but so did the FF XI missions (And the majority of the plot is still differing). I'd just like to see them take the next step and expand on those while making some cool high(ish) duty bosses around them. The only thing that would be weird would be likely having to make it so that only other Immortal Flames (Or people who were previously in the Immortal Flames and completed/were on that particular fight) able to help with the duty, but that would be in-keeping with the theme of Grand Companies. I don't want it to be like Beastmen Quests where it's just a bunch of refreshable instances until you get to a story relevant one.
