[dev1064] simple solution for weapons and armor in inventory.

Well i'll try to keep this short.

Basically just make another "tab?" or inventory slot in your inventory named weapons and armor or maybe just armory. This area in the inventory will be used just for weapons, armor, and crafting tools thus saving a large amount of space in the regular inventory slot.

What do you guys think? If you have a better idea feel free to share :)


My thoughts (no need to read if you don't want to, its just my two cents)

Since we do not have any sort of player housing or storage space (minus retainers) as of now, we have to carry around weapons for our crafting class or battle class. Every class uses a different type of armor and weapons plus a secondary for crafters which take up a lot of space. So I think this idea is simple and a effective fix regarding inventory space.

Sure we can just wait for housing to come along, but I wont see much of a difference because we can simply change classes by equipping a different weapon. The thing about FFXI is we had to change classes in our mog houses and take out our weapons and armor for that class from our storage instead of carrying it around with us (well I did at least). In this game we can change at will, but we have to make sure we are carrying our correct weapons and armor for it too. The housing seems like an area for storage for future usage (a weapon you will use later on, a rare item that you can't sell or trade, but you just want to keep it.)

Equipping the armor and taking it out of the inventory does also make sense, but dont forget that you still have to carry around other gear for other classes. This method does make sense in other MMO's where you are locked on your class, but I don't feel confident using this method in this game.

Retainers are also a good for storage, but something tells me we just convinced ourselves into thinking this. I think all that extra space was made to keep potential sale items in there since you can only sell 10 things at once. It can also become very unorganized since you can have two retainers in different locations, so you have to look for them and make sure it has the item you're looking for.
