Spam/flood detection script?

Hi,
As we all know, RMT spam in this game is very bad (and having played FFXI before that for a long time, I can tell countermeasure efficiency against it hasn't improved that much for several years). I play/played several MMOs over the years and didn't have such problems, so I was thinking maybe someone here reading the forums/playing the game and working in the MMO industry would have any input on how the devs could improve it?

I was thinking the other day that detecting a character sending out dozens/hundreds of /tell messages to people not in his FC/LS/party containing the same phrase (with some random few-character suffix) can't be that hard. But maybe I'm missing something?
Me myself I'm not very adept at programming, albeit I'm script kiddie in several languages, and definitely not with server cluster management, so can't come up with useful spam/flood detection scripts.
Is there anything more that could be done?

The community has given SE many ideas, as if the current market didn't already have solid countermeasures already. SE is just stubborn in there ways, or overly cautious, and is making adjustments either agonizingly slow, or sticking with there current methods. To be honest, I'm sure one of the first addons we will see when the API is released might be a chat spam filter :P Wouldn't be hard to implimment as it could already be done with a 3rd party app already given some knowledge of programming and regex.

They did do something like that, that's why the goldbuying websites they advertise contain spaces and Russian lettering that looks like English if you look hard enough.

I suppose it should be relatively easy to retrieve from database accounts that has been blacklisted like 5-10 times withing lets say 10 seconds? Because I'm pretty sure that would be like 99% of gold trading accounts telling other people their shit.

They could probably do a lot more if everything relevant to playing the game wasn't detected by the server. "Too much server load" is the response we get for about 95% of suggestions, for anything let alone RMT spam. We can't even filter the Party Finder to give us notifications for certain dungeons/trials. While Kira Vaela's idea sounds really good, I'm sure that's the response we would get.
