Do Jobs = Ishgard???
Dragoon... Paladin... monk
All of these jobs are similar in technique to the classes they sprout from....
But in their philosophy they differ greatly...
So....
Ishgard is run by a religious zealot bishop and is devoted to the fight against dragons
Paladin has always had religious (holy) overtones
Dragoon has always been either one who battled with dragons or one who fought against dragons. It changes from game to game
Monk is more spiritual than religious really and doesn't really seem to side with Ishgard but (And this is a stretch) could be a part of some resistance group opposed to the dictatorship of the Bishop
This is all just wild speculation but could the new jobs tie heavily into Ishgard?
The soldiers outside of Ishgard claim that you need the blessing of Halone the Fury to enter the city (Halone being the guardian deity most associated with Gladiators) which could tie into the twelve, Archons and Umbral era's and all that jazz
If Ishgard isn't introduced this way, I wont be mad, but I'd love it if it was
-
That would be great.
We just have no idea on how complete Ishgard is. It would be an awesome surprise if it was ready by the job system patch, but I can't really picture them not hyping it up.
-
A dragoon is just mounted infantry actually :P
Personally I find Coerthas the most beautiful and interesting, but the lack of regional content keeps most players away from those lands. I hope it gets implemented soon :/
-
The knights of ishgard are called dragoons. It's stated in a few quests. Though wasn't the job confirmed to be coming out called Dragon Knight?
-
Dragon Knight and Dragoon are interchangeable as far as I know. I think Dragon Knight is literally what the name for the job translates to from Japanese to English.
-
Ishgard or Companies. I want jobs to be unlocked with some story tied with one of these 2.
-
Dragon knight was just the way it was translated. It used the same kanji used in FFXI for dragoon.
-
The dragoons is ishgards infantry (those guys on the chocobos) while dragon knights are warriors trained to fight dragons (no chocobo required). We might learn more once the story progresses to the part where we actually see ishgard fighting dragons.
-
Though I wouldn't mind having Ishgard open, if jobs and their abilities are indeed quested, I would hope that their lore would be spread throughout the world.
-
I personally hope that job quests are spread out between the cities and that Ishgard brings new classes and jobs to the table when it opens to the public.
