Community in this game is unbelievable.

So here is something that happened today.. Temple of Qarn, Marauder (Green) comes in and states he/she is new. The Scholar (Red) immediately starts harrassing the new player.

I have blocked both names as I am not trying to defame here just highlight, i have left my name unblocked cos you all know its me lol..

Why i think you should see it? it just surprises me how horrible can be to eachother in this community, you would never see anything like this when i played FFXI back in 2005 and if you did it wasn't common.

I am guilty of getting frustrated at people who cannot learn, but i would never just go all out and harrass them like this i would offer tips, actually as you will see in the picture i just say "you do need it"

this all happened in the 1st 5 mins so the healer couldnt be kicked. Just after the tank logged off (and probably never coming back) is when we were able to vote kick the healer.

I hope people can see the damage this causes to our community and i also hope the red person sees this post and reads back how they handled the situation

That kind of reminds me to when in Brayflox longstop few players were saying me why I didn't have Bard, Warrior, Paladin, and etc, all the jobs, because I only had classes and that was noob... It just made me want to continue even more using classes, and so I did!... My marauder became warrior when level 40, even If I had the other DoW around 30-35.

It was the healer and that explains many things, he didn't need to wait the 30 min, so didn't care in harrass someone because "I'm super pro and elitist and you shall use warrior and certain gear for playing with me, bitch please"

A shame that wouldn't be a DPS, the super elitist would deserve a really good nice 30 min or more waiting for entering another roulette just for being annoying... (Bad thing is that the other DPS who didn't have fault of this would have to wait too)

PS: So far, at least in Lich (Or not, because someone told me that Duty Finder gathers people of all servers) the people I have seen is not like that, I mean, there's always some **** like that everywhere, luckily it's not the majority, all the opposite. Overall I think that FFXIV has a really good community compared with other games. Also, to be honest, the green hightlight guy also had the fault of this.... If I would be him I would just ignore super mr "I'm super pro and elitist" guy and ask the others for tip, or keep playing...

Ignore some people is something that really, really really hurt them a lot, even if it is underestimated, ignore is a good tool.

New and learning DOES mean making stupid choices. What was he talking about?

The joke is on him, since before level 50, marauder is the supreme class. The amount of damage they can put out, while at the same time tanking is phenomenal. In some cases it's pretty much equal to most DPS jobs, while retaining their bulletproof status of being tanks as well. It basicly means you have a Tank and a DPS rolled into one.

It's not till post-50 where you have to be more defensive that Warrior takes the upperhand, especially with relics being WAR only. But still cannot be defeated by Marauder in pure damage output. I might even dare say that if you go Full Allegan (which can be worn by Marauder), a marauder will outperform just about anything else you bring with you.

There are times you want to use the class instead of the job. The reason why I say that is because of the fact that you can use cross class abilities that might grant you access to (de)buffs your job does not have access too at that particular level.

For instance, stoneskin.

To be honest as a new player, the only reason I knew to do the class/job quests is because my friends who had started before me told me that those were things that happened. Then I knew that I should do them every 5 levels. (but oh man as a THM/BLM was it annoying to do them as I got them. They hurt.) You only get 'sent' to your job quest if you followed through on all the class quests that (as a newbie) the only reason I knew was because my friends told me about it.

While it's true, having the job is quite useful it's no reason to have acted the way this person did. It's a low level dungeon, not CT or even coil. New and learning sometimes also means 'stupid' mistakes.

It really saddens me because it was once I hit end-game that I started to see the common ilk like this. When i first started FFXIV I was amazed when I had died in Eastern Thanalan and before I even hit return someone had raised me. When i died in some of those single instances, before I could even see if a friend could raise me, people would raise me, cast protect and stoneskin. Once I hit end-game it was like all the ilk was there in force. (CT anyone?)

You sort of get immune to that stuff after awhile. The community is just fully of players that want instant gratification or else rage.

You realy should jump on your job quest at 30 asap. Makes a world of a difference.

OP if this was a Final Fantasy game, it would have a respectful community like XI did, sadly this is a generic fantasy, it is designed to take in all types of players.

All this game is doing introducing FF fans with other MMO attitude and eventually making FF fans into an a-holes.
