So my group was doing coils today, breezed through T1-4 and upon finishing T4 my brd gets locked in the loading screen. No big deal right? Wrong! Aiming feet dropped and he was unable to log back in in time to get them.
We let them go to someone who can use them but we're hoping that there might be some way we can get them moved over to the guy who will use them now. Anyone have any success with this situation?
That sucks. I don't think I've ever heard anyone be successful at getting the item someone else got unwillingly due to similar situations.
Saw something similar on T5 yesterday... One of the healers were dc'ing for a very long time. I'm not sure for how long but we had to wait for the full 5 minutes for the loot before leaving the instance as he couldn't log in to pass any of it.
Something that might be useful to know is that people have used their "one time restore" with GMs to get items replaced. However, I'm not so sure you could use it in this instance. Does anyone else understand the politics around this better than me?
I guess I'm kind of useless in this situation, but if I lost something to the floor or some other bug, I would attempt to use that "one time restore" and see what happens.
It's been said by others that just about anything can be conjured up by a GM for a player in this game if they believe the player has the right to "restoring" that item and the rules allow it. But those rules are very tight as to what they are permitted to do. I personally know people that have had items restored, but often they were things there was no doubt they had at one time... like a Fantasia Potion or something (which is annotated on mogstation). I suppose it would mostly revolve around proving that you had rights to said item. Anything that you could circumvent things such as dice rolls and stuff by requesting a restore are a bit doubtful I think because in the GMs eyes, how do they know you weren't able to roll? From their side, they probably only see that you didn't.
I'd still make your case to a GM. There is no reason not to.

Also in game, there should be a way, honestly, I know people have done it, but I'm not sure what they did. I'd say the "report a bug" but the description says they aren't going to respond so, now I'm not sure.
I'll try to ask my friend in game that got a restore when i see them next (they aren't on now).
I'm pretty sure you're not going to be able to; there was a thread a bit ago about a similar situation
Also...two-ish weeks and you can farm T1-5 til your heart's content...so if nothing happens its not a huge deal...
