I have both a Logitech G15 and G510 keyboard, both have these small LCD screens that can display additional info. There's some general ones like time and media player, but many games hook into this to display additional information about the game.
It would be nice if FFXIV supported this as well, maybe even with multiple "tabs" of information. Things like
- HP/MP/TP
- Ingame Time
- Unread messages
- Notifications
I too recently obtained a Logitech G series keyboard when my old generic backlit pos went kaput. I was sooooooooOOooooOOOOOOooo disappointed when I got the darned thing and realized that I can't even use it to it's fullest capabilities (i.e. the awesome screen thing) in game :/
