Buccaneer's Shirt vs. Harrier's Jacket

Been kindof stewing over these today. My two highest battle classes atm are pugilist and archer so Buccaneer stuff has always been on my radar. Here are the base status

Buccaneer (HP48,STR6)
DEF - 104
MDEF - 96
EVA - 34

Harrier's Jacket (DEX5,VIT6)
DEF - 111
MDEF - 76
EVA - 30

Okay so Harrier's only has 7 more DEF, but is losing a whopping 20 MDEF over the buccaneer's and 4 EVA which is hard to come by. IMO if you are comparing just the NQ Harrier's vs Buccaneer's. I think you go Bucaneer's especially if you are tanking. You have the extra EVA to trigger more Simian Thrashes and you have the full 20 more MDEF. The 48 HP > VIT imo also. (much like I prefer Attack < STR) at this point in the game's development.

Now if you have a Harrier's +1, +2, or +3, that is where it starts to get interesting. Let's take the +2 for example, Here are the new stats.

Harrier's +2
DEF 122
MDEF 83
EVA 33

At this point I would still go Buccaneers. If you had up the attributes for all 3 the Harrier's +2 gives you 238 atribute points and the buccaneer's gives you 234. But I would still rather have the extra MDEF and 1 more evasion.

Now if you happen to have a shot at a Harrier's +3, then at this point, my arm is twisted enough and I would go with the +3.

Any thougths on this? What do you pugilists use? When forming your answer don't say Harrier's just because you don't have a Bucc's or can't aford one. Form your answers as if you have both pieces.

For an archer, get the Eternal Shade from the Mushroom NM near Camp Tranquil.

For PGL - the stats on either item don't really matter enough to make a significant difference.

Right now i'd get the shirt....the why is simple...+HP +eva...sometimes it would make the difference from you beating the mob or kissing the floor.

Yes I have Eternal Shade and had fun with it for quite a long time. Still use it on LNC/MRD/GLD classes, but even that has to be retired at some point.

For PGL, while I agree you, but hey it's all we got for now right!

Sure it has the 2 accuracy and 2 attack which is substantial, but you can get stuff like that from a proper jewelry set. You are losing out on 50 def and other stuff by not going harrier's or buccaneer's. So you can wear it if you want, just don't get hit.

With that said if you are just burning through leves who cares right? I mean after your buffed multi-shot mobs are dead anyway. I just wouldn't wear eternal shade on a NM fight, especially something like great buffalo where you can get hit with nasty AOE.

guess I can't argue with that logic lol

evasion is huge for any pug who takes hits.

For pug end game I would have to say Harness +2 or +3 is going to be best body choice. (that is as far as gear currently in the game)
