Hi Res Texture Pack

Hello everyone, I'm going to make this short and to the point.

I think this game would gain a tremendous amount of visual fidelity if we had some decent textures.

Even zoomed out the textures are very blurry and low res, the game uses FXAA also, which makes low res textures even more apparent.

Square Enix has always been at the forefront of high end graphics, with amazing PC ports such as Hitman Absolution, Deus Ex, and Sleeping Dogs. Please show this game the same love! We need HD textures!

This is 2014 where many video cards have well over 1GB of VRAM, such small textures stick out like a sore thumb and mar the games beauty.

Like this post if you support HD textures!

Yoshi P said he has no plans for HD textures in DX11, that is why I'm making this petition.

Count me in. They probably already have their minds set for what they're going to do for the DX11 patch, but I would like to show them we care enough for it to happen eventually.

Seriously Yoshi. It's not exactly unnoticeable.

It's pretty darn obvious on some armors. Glacial Coat is nothing but pixels and low res even. And the stones in limsa.

Thing is, the entire game engine was rebuild from scratch to work with low-res textures. The game looks terrible compared to 1.0, but there's nothing they can do to change it. They'd have to rewrite it again.

When competition that's been out for almost a decade has better texture resolution than you... :S Something is wrong, SE.

I'm not even a PC user and still I think this is a great idea.
It would be cheap to do and they (should) have the assets to make this happen.

Future-proofing the PC version would be something all players (even us console users) would benefit from.

The reason this won't happen is the PS3. It can't use higher resolution textures, and SE won't devote the time and money to give PC/PS4 better textures. They believe DX11 will make the resolution of textures "unnecessary".

I think lighting needs attention, and possibly some bloom. Textures are ok imo but the light hitting these textures at times is extremely incorrect.

Texture improvement won't happen, it would just cost too much. SE also do not need to improve them, their fanbase is already secure. Graphics usually play no part in an mmos longterm success anyways

Its so wild that we're waiting with baited breath for DX11 support and DX12 is literally right around the corner.
