Unable to advance immortale flames hunting log

I have completed rank 2 of the immortal flames hunting log, received the rewards and everything, however the rest of the game says I have not completed it. I cannot receive promotion for immortal flames because the npc says I have not completed rank 2 of the hunting log, but in the log I have completed 27/27. Rank 3 is also unavailable, says I have not yet completed rank 2.

Have you completed Dzemael Darkhold, and registered the quest completed at the Grand Company commander?

I think you need to get a quest for Aurum Vale Lv47 from that GC not sure when it shows might just show up at lv47 and there might be other quests and dungeons that might need to be done before it shows!

the NPC for promotion only mentions rank 2 of the hunting log as a requirement. The promotion is for chief flame sergeant to second flame lieutenant

Take a look at rank 3 of the hunting log, and see if you really fulfill all the requirements listed there.
Also check your quest journal to see if you have any stray quests.

I got second lieutenant recently after I ran Aurum Vale as specified by one quest. (Had to run it twice because I forgot to talk to NPC outside Aurum Vale first)

Oh yeah, I kind of blocked that dungeon from my memories.

that is my problem. I have completed rank 2 of the hunting log, 27/27. Rank 3 requires me to get a promotion and finish rank 2 of the log. But I cant get a promotion because it the NPC says the records show I have not completed rank 2 of the hunting log

To get the promotion you need to do the quest that takes you to Aurum Vale, in addition to rank 2 completed.
What level are you?
