New Tomes

Why are we getting new tomes? Surely they could just make the new gears cost Myth, gained only from new fights, and make the old Myth gear from Phil. (DL could be drops from older content? Vanity from Phil?)

I -almost- see their thoughts on progression here. Get 50 > Get Phil Gear > get Myth gear > get New tome gear.

Except that with Echo, you could skip straight from 50 to Myth...



A SECOND thought on Myth: Will there be measures in place to prevent me from getting my mule to a Cad shortcut, porting my team in, and force disconnecting for easy, repeatable tomes?

Edit: May have answered it myself.....guessing shortcut/entrance will be disabled with DF. Much like Hydra/Chim limitations. LOLRot.

If they drop i90 gear to Philo, that would be HIGHLY detrimental as new players would skip Darklight entirely and show up to Ifrit HM for the first time in full i90 gear and make complete jokes of themselves. They're removing the myth cap anyways in 2.2, but you'll still need to work for your myth I'm pretty sure

And for your second thought, there would be absolutely no logical reason to do that since they'll be A) Nerfing coil and B) unlocking turns 1-5 so you could run T1 all day to get all the gear you want

It forces life into the new dungeon queues. If it was like how you said, ppl would just do WP speedrun until fully geared.

How can you complain about this anyways? I really don't get it.

Rot passing still wont happen. players will just throw together 8 man farm parties via DF and farm T2 till doomsday using enrage method. I fear that this will phase our the running of current HM dungeons tho....which makes me sad. I <3 Haukke.
