Free company issues.
I keep coming across alot of free companies that don't seem to like having new players join, even the ones that say don't mind social members only seem to stick to their little groups and not make new people feel welcome.
This is what I've come across and its really putting me off the game as I can't seem to find a fun and relaxed free company that just want to play and socialise.
Sorry if it seems like im moaning but it would be nice to find some like minded people :)

Since you're from Odin, I'd say take a look here to find a FC that piques your interest.

I would also invite you to join our FC here, if you don't mind creating a new character on the lamia server or do a world transfer.

However, it seems you're from EU, so I'm not so sure how your connection would be on a NA server. We do, however have a few EU players here too, and they seem to do pretty well in terms of connection.
We're a really Casual FC, if that's what you're looking for.
Nonetheless, I hope you'll be able to find a FC for you.

It can be very difficult to find a free company that suits your needs. Fortunately, it is good that you know what you want. Although you probably know most of it, here's some advice if you're stuck looking for a guild.
1) Ask the recruiter questions. Find out what times the fc members are online and active, ask what they talk about, about events, and anything else they can say about their fc. It may sound troublesome, but recruiters are really excited when someone takes that much interest in their fc. It will only help your reputation in the fc if you do.
2) It can take a while for players to warm up to you. There may also be an off-day or week where the fc is not so active. Give them some time before jumping to conclusions. Slightly contradictory to that though, also watch out for fcs that are too quiet when they first welcome you to the fc. That is usually a red flag that the fc does not hold many expectations for new members. You may still break the ice, but it is a rough start and suggests the fc may not have a policy of thoroughly screening their members. Consequently, it might be rarer for fc members to invite you to events or parties.
3) Unique to FFXIV, you can first join a linkshell. Linkshells are like chat channels, and while half the size of a fc and without the material benefits, they can help you build a network of players you will enjoy chatting and playing with. Linkshells also work as networking tools to help you find the right fc for you. And the bonus: you can join up to 8 so there's no need to be worried about finding the right one. Use those resources to find the right group of players and the FC that best fits your needs.
4) The partyfinder is also a good way to find active and talkative players. If anyone joins your party who you get along with really well or think is helpful, ask if they have a linkshell. Most will not decline the request.
