Chat In General

For a game with 1.8 million players, the world is awfully quiet! Sometimes, since I've started, I've gone hours without seeing a single message or text from anybody. The only things i see are the tells from the damn gold spammers. Why arent more people chatting it up? Where is the voice chat option? I play on PS3 and do not always have access to a computer, and most certainly not in the same room as my console. Is everyone using skype or ts3 or something and that is the explanation of lack of contact?

While ps3 players can simply add eachother to friends list and open chat that way, an open chat system in game would be great and beneficial to alot of people lookinf to connect with others.

Honestly, it's been like this since day one back in 1.0. The world just doesn't see a lot of /say or /shout, or /yell now. It's almost all in the linkshells and free companies and always has been.

I always try to chat up my friends in /say if we're near each other though. Keeps LS/FC uncluttered and feels more real. Plus sometimes we make friends from random people eavesdropping. That's always fun.
