Weather Effects
Can we get an option to disable weather effects, and possibly increase the quality of the rain? The rain effect looks terrible, and it's just simply annoying when it happens. FPS drops whenever it shows up unavoidably and it's just a terrible effect.

I thought the rain was probably some of the best looking rain I seen in a mmo honestly... But I agree with the weather off... rain and sandstorms lag the crap out of my comp.

the rain is fine. The amount of rain and how long it lasts gets annoying though. limsa is one area that it rains too much. If anything the sound of thunder with lightning on the boat is not realistic. Alot of lightning but not many sounds...

Swev the amount of rain has more to do with the whole world getting flooded/going to hell in a hand basket meta event thing they have going right now.
For me the rain is fine, dose not cause to much of an issue its the wind/dust storms that cause noticeable drops in fps. But i agree it would be nice to have this option. though i could have sworn i saw this being talked about before.. Oh well.

I think the effect is really bad, it's just criss-crossed walls of lines. It's not even rain like most games.
The rain is just annoying because of how OFTEN it happens and it's just laggy. Normally weather is "oh look, it's raining" but in this game it's "dang it, it's raining AGAIN." You can't even turn it off.

Liked because if FFXI had that option, FFXIV users should have it too. Especially when FFXIV is more intense with the graphics.
Now with the amount of rain that we've seen everywhere lately, I'm wondering when in the world it will finally end. Normally I like having weather effects, but they show up so commonly now it's boring and you don't get to see the sun/stars a lot.

It rains in Limsa FAR too often.
-
seems like it rains in every city state far too often now. why do it rain so much in the DESERT of uldah?
-
The rain has to do with the 7th age thing SE is doing. It is part of the event, just like how the music in Thanalan stops.
Since that event started it rains about 10fold more then it use to.

I was wondering the same exact thing. If it's flipping raining, then there shouldn't even be a desert. Because of all of this, I don't even want to hear one peep out of the NPC's complaining about the heat in Thanalan.
