PS3 - PS4 transfer

I know theres like a million threads on this but its not to late to get the ps3 version now to get the ps4 free upgrade is it? Thinking its fine since the upgrade is not until April but read one site which says you have to get the PS4 version if you don't already own ps3 version. Maybe it means I can still get in through ps3 version or maybe S-E have now blocked new ps3 users from upgrading? Anybody got a definitive answer?? As I just ordered the PS3:CE with a view of upgrading to PS4 as it was like £55 cheaper..

That is correct, as long as you get the PS3 version before April. Not sure if you must actually activate it or start your trial first however. You would need the PS3 version for the upgrade and once or if you transfer to the PS4 then you may not got back to the PS3. Will have been testing the PS4 beta so really not sure why anyone would go back to the PS3 version, lol

You have to activate it and log in at least once.

An update for people here. I registered the ps3 version (you don't have to download just insert disc, install and link through ps3) I got my collectors items and I also got 30 days added onto my account even though it was an existing account! I now have 85 days on my account :). Very happy as the 30 days free was a nice surprise.
