I want Wyverns back!!

I have just returned to final fantasy now that I have a playstation(my laptop couldnt handle ff14 well). I had been a ff11 player since release month. And my biggest problem so far is the lack of wyverns for the Dragoon. We can have a battle chocobo but no Wyvern? ludicrous! will we ever get them? and if so how soon? if it is a delay tactic to bring players back into the game that left well knock it off! it's annoying.

90% of DRGs do have trouble playing the job efficiently more than any other job in the game, at least on my server. The positional requirement plus the usual anti melee AoE makes the job a bit difficult to play for most players, yet it is the most popular job.

You add a pet that they need to manage and I guarantee loldrg won't be a joke any more and it would be general trend in FFXIV. If you think "No melee" in PF was bad, wait until "no scrub loldrg".

I honestly don't care how good any DRG here on the forums think they are, the general DRG players base are terrible, to the point they invoke suicide tendency on other players.

This is not FFXI. There has been no mention of dragoon ever being able to use wyverns in any way shape or form in any live letter or press release. Most dragoons are bad enough without micromanaging a pet, they would not know what to do with life if they got more buttons to deal with. Leave them out, or make them mounts.

Exactly. DRG in FFXI was less traditional DRG skill (ala Jump skills) and more just a pseudo-pet Job revolving entirely around the wyvern and how it's AI functioned.

Besides, controlling a wyvern in XIV just wouldn't work, due to the game's lore stating dragons are entirely evil. DRGs are the elite cavalry troops of Ishgard who have been long at war with the dragons and regard anyone who has the slightest alliance with them as heathens. Hence, no wyvern pet for you I'm afraid.

As a main drg and someone who hates pet classes...........please no....our rotation is already very tough to nail well ala lv 50.....I understand you miss it, but I truly don't want or need one.

You may understand better when you get to the point your trying to keep your debuff/buff up and dodging AEs near constantly, it just wouldn't be practical.

My wife mains a sch, and without positional requirements for her skills and being out of AE range often, on some of the harder fights she still ocassionally will lose her fairy to an AE, not being quick enough to move her.

Drgs would not be able to manage a pet.

Seems impractical, all things considered.

Good thing I am the 1% top DRG bad@ss. Other classes don't seem as much fun. To answer the OPs question , wyverns would be cool but hard to manage. This class too hard for others already. I see it all the time. I teach no one listens. This is my only class I fight with and no alts. ilvl90 here just achieved it yesterday.
