Me a my boys just started this game 3 of us started in the same town 2 of us chose keepers of the moon the third did seeker of day. So I found both of my friends with player search went to go add them to a group it only allowed me to add the other moon guy our friend that's the sun guy could not join our group. So my question is by him choosing the sun does that not allow him to group with us
You should be able to befriend or party with anyone independent on race or clan.
Make sure the first 2 quests or so that are given are completed, you cannot interact with anyone in the game until the first few are finished, after that there should be no restrictions.
Also the person you are inviting cannot be in another party at the time. And they will not be able to accept if they are "busy" - talking to an NPC, watching a cutscene, crafting,..
