I have a couple of simple questions about playing this game on multiple platforms and the subscription service.
1) If I buy this game on PC and PS3 (with the intention of migrating that PS3 version to a PS4 version eventually) do I have to pay one monthly subscription or two in order to be able to play on PC and PS4?
2) I already have this Square enix account. I have never played the retail version before on it. I have played the PS4 beta on it. When I buy a new copy or FFXIV will I be able to activate the free 30 days that you get with new copies?
3) Can a character created on the PS4 retail version also be played on the PC version (and visa versa) or are they locked to a particular platform?

A. 1) You can use your account across multiple platforms you. However, you cannot play multiple characters at the same time with only one sub.
A. 3) Characters can be played as the character data is linked to your account not the platform.
Although I am not certain about this I don't think you can use the bonus 30 days on an established account. I didn't try though so someone else might be better apt to answer #2. -

The TOS (Terms of Service) prohibit you from using both at the same time. But I switch between PS3 and PC all the time.

No you cant log into your account to send materials , gil , or event items to your other character.
This is called MULES and SE does not want you to be able to MULE. Not so much you personally but... more so to combat RMT / GIL SELLERS.
So to answer your question.. No you cant CHEAT. -

With one subscription, you can play characters on that subscription on any platform you want. The subscription is locked to an account, not to a platform.
The only thing is, you can only have one character from the subscription logged in at a given time (regardless of which platform it is logged in on). Does that clarify it? -
