New to the Game, Using my old FFXIV 1.0 Character

Hi all! I decided to try FFXIV ARR, but I come from playing the original 1.0 game a few years ago. My old character was transferred over, it's a level 25 conjurer.

Question is, what should I be doing for quests since I started the new game at level 25? I did a few around my starting area then went down to the conjurer's guild, been doing some of those but not really getting any XP since I'm level 25. Should I just keep doing the quests that the conjurer's guild gives me until I can unlock WHM? Do I need to do all the low level Gridania quests to advance in the game or can they be skipped?

Should I just keep doing quests around Gridania and the conjurer's guild until I get to some that are meant for 25+? Thanks in advance!

The class quests are well worth doing, even coming into the game at level 25 from 1.0, not just because they are required if you want to unlock a Job, but several of them also unlock various content in the game itself (the level 5 one unlocks that class's 'Hunting Log' which is useful for levelling, the level 10 one for your starting class unlocks the Armoury System proper, and the level 15 and 30 ones give you a unique ability you can't learn normally.) Other low level sidequests are worth saving for other classes you are yet to level however.

It's best to also do the main storyline (main story quests are depicted with a Meteor icon rather than the usual speech bubble icon) as that also unlocks content as you go along as well (Inn, levequests, quildhests, airships, retainers, mounts etc), and not just for exp. If you're after quests around your level, try Fallgourd Float (village in the north west of the North Shroud) or Quarrymill (village eastern corner of the South Shroud). Some quests require earlier ones to be completed first before they will show up though.

Pretty much just start with whatever you can. I think it changed to needing Arcanist for WHM, but I'm no healer and just did the quests for the achievment.

As far as the quests you -have- to do, they're the ones that kind of look like they're on fire when you go to the quest giver & on the maps.

Yeah, ACN is now the sub-class required for WHM instead of GLA like it was in 1.23. And unfortunately ACN is gained from Limsa Lominsa, which you cannot access til you have your airship pass (gained by completing your starting city's main storyline up to level 15 - airships cannot be ridden at will any more, even the ferry from Vesper Bay requires your airship pass to access.). So there is even more incentive to do the main storyline. ;)
