Post patch - what happened with some DoH gear overmelds?

I just noticed after the current patch that some existing overmelds on my crafting gear has gone into the "red" state.. I'm assuming im not getting any benefit from the materia's stats now. Anyone know what happened?

I also notice a message "One or more items were not melded with the specified material" in the gear set menu. Not sure if related.

When I switched to Warrior (yeah, I know, not a crafter, blasphemy!) I got some message that flashed up about materia. I haven't really looked into it, but now I'm worried.

I just checked a ring on one of my DoW jobs. I know for a fact that something used to be crit hit + 6 on the last slot of the ring is now crit hit +2. So, something was changed in this patch with stat caps on gear.

I saw the same on my crafters, I have all my gear capped, on all 8 classes, so ill defo be checking this out when I get chance. I'll screw if they've changed it!

If this was indeed changed and it wasn't planned (in the patch notes), then it simply qualifys as a bug. I suggest submitting a bug report.

Which items, and what are they capped at currently? My belt and accessories were capped, and haven't changed with the patch.

'"Gearset" equipped, but materia could not be restored.' is related to gearsets now looking at materia on items. Before this patch they just grabbed the first one in your armory with the right name.

Guys sorry about this - I tried to delete my post afterwards but I guess there's a lag between creation and posting. I just experienced a massive brain fart after not being on for a few days - I rechecked and nothing changed in my material stats.. the warning message just threw me off. Thanks!

Ohh thank god! I've been waiting for some better system for swapping gear, I have a few sets of the same thing for bonding, annoying when they get put on my main class instead
