Maintenance
Stop picking prime times to decide oh we need emergency maintenance. If it really is EMERGENCY then do it within 2 hours of it or stop saying it is emergency. You pick to move up the date for 2.16 patch but picked the worse possible hours for the maintenance for NA servers. then you pick the worse time for EMERGENCY maintenance for NA servers. I have no idea how important this so called emergency maintenance is but you can simply split it up into Japanese servers and NA /EU servers like you do everything else. This is a BS time for you to be picking EMERGENCY maintenance for beta ps4 users. sorry you guys screwed up something in the patch that you said would take 10 hours to do even though you cut it short be over an hour, but then to turn around and say oh we missed something or we need to fix something is pretty dumb. So just kick yourself in the butt and stop hurting the gamers.

It's listed plainly in the terms of service you agreed to abide by when you signed up - that Square Enix reserves the right to take the game offline at any time for maintenance without any compensation to you. If it's emergency maintenance, then it literally can happen at any time - that's why it's 'emergency maintenance.'
And no matter what time they do the maintenance, someone is going to be inconvenienced - and sadly you got the short end of the stick this time.

Yeah, I know right? Its such a pain to have to deal with the maintenance times.
I'm happy playing a game with glitches and broken mechanics. They should just do away with maintenance to better suit me!

This maintenance was to fix a controller bug wich affected all ps3 and gamepad using players. It caused a delay on every action taken and keeps you from selecting new targets.. the game was incredibly annoying to play and it seemed like the last straw for many players. So im glad they did this maintenance that brought happiness to a good part of the community that you may be a party with.

No matter what time they choose, someone somewhere will be unhappy about it.

Japan is also on the other side of the world from us. Their work days are just starting when we're all online during "our" prime time in the US. Therefore, unless they did a graveyard shift for updates, they're going to be during Japan's normal business hours.
This is a WORLDWIDE game - no matter what time they pick, someone will be shafted during maintenance times. Get over it, lol. It's going to happen to somebody. And before you make a "Well WoW does maintenance at good times..." No they did not - it was just convenient for you personally. More often than not on a big patch day, you wouldn't be playing UNTIL 8-9pm PST and sometimes later if there's issues with it, and it wasn't much better since the game was down all freaking day. I greatly prefer it being down all night. It gives you an excuse to go to sleep and live on a normal sleeping schedule. There's always a positive :P

Giant is right. They need to split the servers. Thus, when do maintenance on the jp servers they can have the update come through on other servers after prime time.
