Playing two different accounts but switching between PS3 and PC possible?

So I bought this game on Stream for me to start an account and I bought it on PS3 for my wife. We have two subscriptions.

Occasionally my wife might want to play her account on the PC when I am not playing. But when she tries to log in, it says she is not registered, but she can log in on the PS3 just fine.

I assumed this would work the same as it did with Final Fantasy 11 in that as long as you have purchased the game on both platforms and have a subscription, you can move between them at will. Has this changed?

You need to have game purchased for each player on each platform - so if you both want to play on PS3 as well as on PC you need two copies of PC version of the game and two copies of PS3 version. If only your wife want to play on both PC as well as PS3 then you need to have two copies of PC version of the game - each registered to respective SE service account.

That's lame and really complicates things for me.

Well - that's the way the SE sells the game so if you don't like it tough luck. You can get copy of the game on both platforms online dirty cheap now plus remmember that registering another game on other platform to the same service account will add another 30 days of free game time so after deducting that from the cost you'll pay almost noting for the extra copy of the game itself. (This goes for hard copies of the game which sells really cheap now by online retailers, the digital downloads are still overpriced saddly by both SE as well as Sony.)
