Lobby Server Errors and 90k's.
So many threads about this topic, one more won't hurt I suppose...
So it seems that these errors have resurfaced again: 90k, 6001, 2002, 5006, etc...
There's nothing new or unique about these errors, as a matter of fact any player that's been around since Beta Phase 4 can tell you exactly what causes these issues to happen. It all boils down to server overload. These are the exact same issues all the players were faced with from Phase 4, Early Access (day 3) and Launch... far more players attempting to connect than the server can handle.
Now these errors have been gone for a while now as the game's progressed from launch. SE tuned their servers a bit, did some splitting and reorganizing to streamline the process but it seems they don't learn old lessons and plan ahead. So what's the culprit this time then? Simple answer: Released on Steam with a 50% discount on day 1.
Apparently they didn't realize the magnitude of people this would bring into the game. Yeah the game's nearly a half-year old already, but any Steam release of a game is going to bring in more people since there are some who buy games exclusively on Steam.
Simple fact is... there's nothing you can do about it, no amount of tickets will solve this issue, there's only 2 ways for this to resolve: 1) a number of the players who bought it on Steam get fed up and stop trying. 2) SE expands the capability of their Lobby and other Servers. And just to be clear... option #1 is more likely to happen before #2, it took SE a good number of months from launch to up their server capacity for the players who bought the game retail.
