Hotbar Option: Tapping & Holding

Quick summery:

Just like the L2 & R2 holding to switch hotbars without cycling through all your hot bar sets.. why not add a "Tapping & Holding" option for the Directional/Button Pad as well?

Ex: Hold circle for set amount of time to activate [Heal 3], Tap circle to activate [Heal 1].

[Heal 1] on Hotbar 1 and [Heal 3] on Hotbar 3.

Also have it where there is a small meter to tell you when the skill is ready or not on your visual hotbar that it is set to.

Do people like this idea? Yes/no? I personally think it's a feature that should be added to make the controller feel a bit more streamline. Plus it'll make FF14 feel like a fighting combat game with custom combo action skills.

And for those of you who argue to just make macros... I play manually. I am not a fan of macros especially since FF11's gear swap macros for every weapon skill set.

I love macros but realize they are slower.
I've changed from macro bard to marco-less bard, using the exact same rotation I always use, and gained around 20 DPS on average.

That said, I like this idea. Like you said, would be good for stuff that isn't needed to be cast quickly, like Protect. Or marking.
