I think that the bookshelves should have a nice good use for player-to-player fun. If you click on a book shelf you should be able to fill a book with a diary/journal or story a player makes for other's to read!
Click on the bookshelf and a menu appears that's stats the title, genre, then Author. I think this would make it more inviting for players to see what others think about on their spare time.
