Log In Issues
I have no problem logging into FFXIV on my own computer at my house. If I try to log in on my friends computer it prompts me about ''suspicious'' activity and my account is locked out. Then I have to log in to my email, click on the link, change my password, and go through Captcha Hell? Why? Is this a bug? I assume that account log in credentials are stored on SE's servers... I would also assume that as long as the user name and password are correct I should be able to log into FFXIV with no problems from any goddamn computer I so desire! Why do I have to change my password and get the ''suspicious activity'' prompt every time I log in from a different computer? Is there a setting that I can change to stop this BS from happening? I am tired of having to change my password because I went over a friends house and used his computer. I appreciate how secure FFXIV is; but this is starting to become a royal pain in the @$$!!!

If you have a one time temp password, you won't need to do that.

Don't worry, it's not a true 'suspicious access' - all it is, is an IP block due to the fact you're accessing the game from another computer with a different IP address to the one you previously used, hence it's tricking SE's security system into thinking a hacker is possibly trying to access your account. This happens to me occasionally when my router is reset or my ISP reassigns us a new IP address after a few months.
Unfortunately there is no real way around it other than to use a Square Enix Security Token or Software Token which generates the one-time password that AngelMoon was referring to. Otherwise each time your IP address changes the IP block will kick in and you will need to change your password.

its a security feature.
You should get the Free Security App that you can download if you have iPhone or Android. It will totally bypass the security thing.

Yeah as someone else said it's the IP address. Every time my electric goes my IP resets and I'm locked out. It's frustrating but I'd rather them being extra vigilant than sloppy.
