PS3 To PC?
Recently I sold my Ps3 and bought a PC. I was curious if I can transfer my character from ps3 to PC and how to do so. and also if its possible if I could get some tips for PC game play. Since I have leveled all the way to 50 with a controller I dont really have experience with this game on keyboard and mouse yet.

Get a PS4 controller, or 360 controller.
next, u need to buy the PC version.
When installing, it will give you an option to link your account, or just straight up make a new one.
(Be careful, there is also an option to link it, BUT make a new account at the same time. I was PC, going to PS3, and the option to link them, w/o making a new account, was at the bottom, where i had to scroll down 1 line, and in small text, nearly missed it.)
you can also set up the keyboard to act like a controller as well. Such as;
1-9 on the num pad can be set as triangle, square, circle or X buttons.

You dont need to set the keyboard up to act like a controller. Buy the PC version and follow the above steps. If you want to stick to a controller, buy a cheap Xbox360 Controller for windows and hook it up. Should install right away with no further prompts for you. Once that is set and the game is installed, log in like normal and in the character options menu just flip the switch from keyboard to controller and Voila! You now have cross hotbars. Ensure all the buttons are working correctly and start dragging and dropping your skills to the button you want them on. There are other options you can play around with as well to suit your needs.

I have wondered if you can play with Mouse and keyboard on PS3? and how hard it would be to get accustomed to it. Anyone make the switch? How long did it take to learn if possible?
-
You can play with mouse and KB on PS3 however there are certain HUD limitations comparing to PC. How long it will take to learn is up to you really ;)

You can use the Dual Shcok 3 joystick or any similar connecting it to your PC with usb. Then use a program caled "MotionInJoy" virtual gamepad or something like that.
I play on PC but using my dual shock 3 from PS3, that way you won't feel any great difference between Ps3 and PC (Personally I would find really weird to use a XBOX controller after being more than 14 years using Playstation ones).
Have fun!

Quick tip too. If you are using a Dualshock 3 or even a Dualshock 4, and you don't want the Xbox button displays, there is an option in system configuration from the main menu, which allows you to change controller type. Hit that, and you can change it to display the Playstation buttons instead!

Yeah, that's right! I forgot about that detail, thanks for commenting it, Sparky.
I remember that the buttons annoyed me a lot. There's also more options to configure gamepad. For example when I pressed my first time the circle, it counted as if it was square, the buttons were somehow interchanged but I managed to solve that in the configuration.

Yes I thought that was pretty neat. Although the controllers have identical button mappings when configured properly, it's the little things that matter sometimes. Also when you use this setting and a Dualshock 4, the touch pad works too. I get a real sense of what the PS4 version will look and feel like to play.

One of the main points i love in the PC Version versus the PS3 version specifically, is the fact that you can opt to use the "Mouse Mode Micro Menu", which eliminates that large blue overlayed menu currently haunting the PS3 Version (If this function exists within the PS3 version, please let me know where i can find it because i have not been able to do so.), other than that, both experiences can feel similar aside from hardware diferences. (Mostly PS3 Limitations).
To access a PC Version of the game when your account is exclusively at the time bound to PS3 Executable, you must purchase a FFXIVARR copy for the PC, i have heard that 1.00 Copies of the game have worked for people, but this information is extremely unreliable, so don't quote me on that.
However if you possess the collector edition for the PS3, you won't need to purchase it on PC to keep your collectables, also Mogstation will have the option to tie the code to your account and you'll be set.
TL : DR - Check Mogstation!
