(Game) Stopped Working problem FIXED!

If you suffer from this error above, you probably are having the same problem that I had where the game would randomly freeze and that windows error would show up.

While I searched the internet for answers for 5 months, I did hundreds of troubleshooting and dozens of video drivers. Luckily I found old drivers to only crash after gaming a couple hours where new drivers averaged 5-15 minutes till random crashing.

Here is what I did to fix my problem:
Open regedit then -
Navigate to -
H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ System \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Graphics Drivers.
Right click on the open field and click on New / DWORD (32bit) Value,
Then name it: TdrDelay -> double click it -> Set the value to 8.

After that I also did other changes like disabling cool and quiet bios settings such as C1 and C1E. I currently use driver 331.65, but I'm informed that 306.97 is better.

About the posts on GF, if you do those changes, I'd monitor them just in case. I saw some CPU temp jumps when I go without those (I actually throttle down my CPU to about 85% sometimes to lower the sound produced).

What worked for me was waiting a while, then trying to log back in. Like you, this problem hits me more often after 2.1, at any location, any time/etc... I still have no idea what's causing it aside from perhaps someone is wearing 'something' that causes some players like me to get this problem. When they log off or change zones... I go back to normal? Yeah, it's grasping at mithra tails time...

Not everyone has the same FFXIV:ARR Stopped Working problem. Here are the most common reasons it happens.

Too true. I have to dig through around 20-30 of those daily. The typical response is what you'd expect. Noone's willing to send a decent IT expert to check this onsite nor uploading the GB-sized memory dumps. People somehow expect correct answers to this, very generic error message.

In my case however, apparently it was due to Aegis having some problems, since resolved... my character freed.
