This is a problem I had in FFXI as well with the way storage of such items wasn't added until the following patch. Why don't they add new event items that are being added to the Armoir as the items are added instead of with the next big update? We have two sets of event items now and there are more coming up before 2.2 I believe. People are struggling with inventory and retainer space as it is already.
When new event items are added, why are they not added to the Armoir at the same time?
If I remember correctly, they have plans to expand the storage system aside from the current Armoir system they have in place, therefore they really don't want to expand the Armoir system too much at the moment before it gets out of control or causing other server/memory side issues I assume. I'm thinking this is where the special retainer service comes in to play, but we have no information on what the additional retainer service even does yet... lol
We were promised a third retainer before 2.2 to help alleviate the shortage of storage space. I hope they don't wait until the day before the patch to do it...
They also need to allow the storage of event items (otherworldly parcel, wet-bombard ash) and expendable event items (pumpkin cookies, fireworks, and Starlight Festival cakes). I wouldn't be surprised if someone filled an entire retainers inventory with that item.
Note: I hope we'll get more swimsuit designs during the next Moonfire Faire!
