"Target not in Range" when not directly facing target or battle through aggroing

Time: since approx. 11pm on 3 Feb 2014 (or maybe a bit later)
Frequency: always
World name: Moogle
Character name: U'velynh Solh
NPC name: none
Monster name: various in Coerthas; also tried a Diremite near Fallgourd Float in the North Shroud, same problem
Class/Level: Bard Lv.39
Party or solo: solo (or party with my chocobo)
In-game time: always

Steps:

1a. Battle is initiated by my attack.
1b. The failure "Target not in range" occurs every time when I move and I face away from the target (i.e. when I don't directly face the target). This happens when I am standing close or even right next to the target (definitely not out of range).

2a. Battle is initiated through aggroing or by triggering a quest location.
2b. The monsters attack, battle starts.
2c. I cannot retaliate. I can mark the targets. When I try to shoot the failure "Target not in range" occurs no matter my position (close, facing target).
