Thank You! Yoshida-san for making R50 The Dzemael Darkhold Dungeon NOT EASY :)

Hi All,

Our stalwart forum veteran, Rentahamster found some updated information from the SE Dev Team, posted last night on the JP Forums. I think it's pretty exciting news, and since it got completely washed away in the flame-fest that is the original thread, I figured we should let everyone know in a new thread, that's interested in the R50 Dungeon's difficulty.

If you ever hope to defeat The Dzemael Darkhold dungeon boss, you will need to clearly assign roles amongst your specialized party of 8 rank 50 players. Furthermore, you can't just think of the boss as just a strong version of an ordinary monster. You will need to use special, boss-specific strategies to achieve victory.

I'm glad to hear that this is something that's actually designed to be "hard." I can't wait to see what tactics and strategies and challenges await us in the R50 The Dzemael Darkhold.

Hopefully they tie it into the Grand Companies and their Reputation / Rank System, and we get enough reason to go back to it again and again and explore alternate paths, gain more Points / Reputation / Rank to unlock more stuff. :)

It should be noted that only one of the two dungeon's theme may be "difficulty." The R30 will just be squatted by 50's. The dungeon, and its boss, will be wasted developmental challenge design. Can't design a difficult dungeon aimed at R30's if R50's can go into it and just whore the DLVL around.

Sounds like it could be that we'll have to perform incapacitations in order to kill him. This would tie each party member to a specific role (attack right, left, etc.) and also require a "specialized party" (to target specific areas). I hope there's more to it, though.

So? Why are you so worried about what other players do? If I want to dick around with my R50 character in the R30 dungeon what business is it of yours? I'm not affecting your game play at all.

se version of really hard = normal mob for us.

I'm just going to go ahead and say the midlevel content will be a joke. A bigger one that the R50 dungeon.

Hi Lautus,

Yah, I hope so, too. Perhaps the Boss inhibits the party in certain ways, maybe there are different phases to the fight. It could use different Elemental Defenses throughout (something like what the Pudding do already in the game), or more.

This is the first major content patch under Yoshida-san, so I'm holding out hope it's good. :)
