Support for Multiple Waits?

After trying to adjust my UI to visually track buffs I though I'd get smart and simply do something like

/ac Demolish
/wait 18
/echo DEMOLISH is falling off <se.10>

However it seems like each wait in the other buffs overwrites those other waits. Is there anyway to somehow differentiate my wait statements or is this something completely unavoidable?

It'd be nice if I had access to at least a few timers(i.e. /wait1 /wait2 etc). I've never really been a great DPSer and tracking buffs in my head or following a super hard rotation which keeps up everything optimally is probably a little beyond me. I've always relied on buff tracking tools but unfortunately there's no good way to do that with in-game UI elements and it feels like addons are coming no time soon.

I didn't know that the /wait commands for one macro overwrote the /wait of another. I only ever use "/wait 1" in macros so that spamming the keypress will ensure skill 2 doesn't go off before skill 1, or it goes off in the middle of the GCD if it's an off-GCD skill and thus there's no delay for the animation, etc.

I doubt they will implement that because in theory you could mash a set of four macros all at once that inter-weave their abilities without any further input from you.

If you're worried about the actual debuff on the mob from Demolish, just set the UI to only show YOUR debuffs on a mob, and put the HP bar and timers somewhere you can better see when it's close to running out. That's all I can suggest.

Did not know I could do that, now only if I could make the a little bigger and I'd be fine.

you should be able to make it bigger. go to your HUD Layout option. and the target window or target bar. you should be able to increase the size.


either way support for multiple waits globally should be in the game. honestly knowing that if i make a macro with a like...

/ac whatever
/wait 20
/ac whatever

then another macro like the same deal but with different actions. these macros will never work together. if i use macro 1 and then use macro 2 before the wait in macro 1 is up. then the 2nd action in macro 1 will never be used. the wait timer will reset and precede to use the action in macro 2.



complete fail in my opinion.

I am going to withhold judgement until I see what the new <wait.1> etc command will be like when they implement it.

I would love if I could at least get a official post saying "No" here.

This has nothing to do with the /wait commands as per se - the "issue" here is that ANY macro run is interrupted by activating another macro, so if you'll try to run two or more "macros" (not really much of macro anyway as it contains only 1 action command + wait and echo) the second and any consequent buff macro will terminate the previsou macro(s) including their pending / still ticking timers so you'll never see those end notification echos apart of the last one used. This is intended behaviour / design of the macros - you can't run any of them concurently. The only way around that would be to activate 2 / multiply bufs in ONE macro, and then do the maths by having timers running in between them to provide correct end time echos. However with larger discrepancies in the buff and CD times that would shortly cause the situation where you'll be unable to refresh some bufs and their timers. Plus - I feel this is way too complicated - simply watch the timers on the buff icons instead (size the bar up if needed).

This will not change anything - you'll still be able to run only one macro at a time - the only benefit would be possibility to double the amount of real action commands in one macro.

it would be pretty decent to be able to have multiple Wait timers running. wouldn't mind having an Echo cast for all the immunity timers on my PLD. there Blind, Pacification, Silence and Stun.

and it would be pretty cool to put an Echo cast on a few actions that have lengthy cooldowns. this way you don't have to constantly switch XHB to see if they finished or not.


there are more reason to have multiple Wait timers active i am sure.
