Broken method of killing SCH

A group I was queuing with after the patch was trying out the nerfs to SCH, sure enough they are easier to catch up to especially for melee, but they still are very efficient at kiting and with the eos spam healing them + crit procs on their shield. They still are good healers. So then we started splitting dps on the healer and the eos, treating the eos as like extra enemy team member marked #1. Most SCH would scramble to heal and save their eos while the tank was interrupting them, sure enough they did try and heal their eos like an extra team member. After the eos would die the SCH would swiftcast summon the eos again, and once again the 2 dps would burst it down while tank stuck on healer. Once the eos was dead the 2nd time all switch target to SCH and it's 45 seconds or so of no eos support for SCH. Unless their dps and tank would perform some very coordinated CC, their SCH was dead about 95% of the time.

The absence of the eos plus their nerf to slowing their attackers renders them very very vulnerable. In addition, you can also all focus a weak DPS during the 45 sec of no eos while tank sticks on healer.

Another method is getting a sleep cycle going on the eos while all others focus sch, but this method is prone to alot more variables that go wrong.

Anyway it's really simple....

1. Make killing Eos priority. 2 dps burst fairy, tank interrupts SCH, SCH will swift summon.. kill eos again
2. Save some dps bursts for the swiftcast summon of the eos if SCH brings it back.
3. Dogpile SCH after eos is dead the second time.

Two mediocre DPS with a decent tank can practice this method and it works pretty good. With a geared coordinated team it's pretty broken.


Anyway.. just something I noticed with the new nerfs.

Or just summon eos with surecast after a stun happened while they are damaging your current eos. No need for swiftcast there z_z. Plus the scholar shouldn't be standing still just to tank crap like a pro. He or She Should be running/dodging like hell. owo Your also asking to be eyed for an eye debuffed. As well as wasting your time with the healer instead of helping your own healer (or even ranged) from getting killed. (Especially if your own is a WHM) All it takes is a tank to stop your healer and the range dps to have free harass on your range just to turn the match.

That's the beauty of this method, the SCH scrambles for dear life once the eos is down, and eos are not too hard to bring down if the tank is sticking on healer. It is a HUGE nerf to their healing. Surecast summoning while the eos is getting bursted is a good idea but when actually testing it NONE of SCH were ready for the burst on the eos. NONE. Subsequently they were not preemptively surecast - summoning. Sure you can analyze how you'd counter this method on the forums once it's described in detail. But when put into action against an unsuspecting SCH it's game over. We tested it enough times to witness this. I think the point here is the eos, a decent DPS duo can repeatedly bring the eos down pretty fast, after the that the sch goes down fast, keep the pressure split on eos and sch... it workes wonders.

Not necessarily saying your idea is wrong. I would just like to state, scholars are still strong survivors/healers without their fairy. Without her, we basically just have the same cure power as a whitemage cure 1. Which still saves our team members. What I believe is our strongest point, is the fact we can prevent dmg interruption through our Galvanize shields to help ourselves and the dps casters. I just don't find attacking Eos productive before the Scholar uses his/her debuffs to stall even more time for you healer to die unprotected. Our debuffs are instant cast and considering how tanky pets are in PvP your really risking it.

The best thing to do is to just CC the fairy (Auto attacks will interrupt embrace) and burst the healer.

Too much work/time wasted otherwise. :<

As a sch, I love when people go after my eos. I can usually get off enough casts between the tank on me to keep eos up + with sustain. Also even if you manage to kill eos, my dps have usually already killed 2 of the people on the enemy team. When I see people trying to kill eos I end up laughing as their dps could be better spent trying to kill me.

I can see it working in a complete 4-pug team vs a 3man premade, or if the sch is just really bad...but I wouldn't really suggest this method to anyone.

Maybe in solo queue when you have dead weight filling in sides, but this method will not work in coordinated play. You're giving the enemy DPS and tank free reign to do whatever they want. In terms of variables the odds do not favor this approach.

Seems like a lot of effort to kill 2 pets. In the meantime any decent team has probably already killed half your party.

Yeap... Good luck trying to kill that Full Pentamelded PvP Gear and Crafted Vit/Caster Accessories summoned EoS. Sustain will own you and you'd really think 1 tank is enough to lock down a Adlo > Physicks weaving SCH? You're so wrong...
