Repair Request

they should add Repair Request and raise the cost of repairing via npc armor mender.

right now you can save gil when self repair gears (sadly only the ones in your own inventory or armory box), if players repair were allowed it would, raising the price of mender will make the saving more attractive and makes DoH have more option to make money.

No one is going to go out of their way to buy and hold Dark Matter for each level of gear, clogging up your inventory.

Nor will any crafter explicitly go out of their way to fix someone's gear unless the reward is something along the lines of 2000 gil.

These were all things of the past from 1.0, they have no place anymore in this world of Instant Gratification.

It's true, they tried this already. Prices used to be higher, but people whined and whined about not enough ways to make gil, their repair bills after a dungeon, and how dark matter was a waste of time and space.

I'd like to see an Aetheryte blackout, where it's no longer possible to teleport anywhere, but that doesn't mean it'll happen OR that it's a good idea. Of course, it would save billions of gil overall on a server...........

The party offering the repair service should be the one using the dark matters.

2k is almost of the cost of repairing a full set of lvl 70, that gil is better off circulating the economy instead of using the npc.
but if think you were trying to say '2k per gear' implying that not all parts can b done with 1 DoH. u got a sold point there

I understand if it's a waste of time if you need to find the right DoH for every part, but ..

lets say if you had all DoH lvl 50, and for example it wasn't required to change into your lv 50 GSM to repair jewels you can do it as WHM, it would make you be as good as npc mender but you can offer a better price.

there's at least 100 players with all DoH lvled in each server, if Repair request required the menders to carry Dark Matters and only required not switching changing disciple as long as he/she have the required DoH's lvled, then I think it would work out fine, if players realize they can save on repairs and 1k to 500gil profit to be made per repair and you can do all of this within a click, i'm pretty sure it will catch on.

I like this. This has merrit. one way to help this idea would be to make higher grade dark matter backwards compatible.
