Micro healing with embrace? or macroing it on to other abilities? Which do you prefer and why?
Micro healing with embrace using a mouseover macro. I prefer it because it allows me to heal two different targets at once time or choose to heal the same target if needed. With rouse up, embrace can essentially allow me to heal both tank and offtank, or dps if damage is split for substantial amounts. I also use it by itself when I am dpsing, or simply conserving mana during low damage parts of encounters. I would not be able to do any of the above if I did not have it separated from another ability. The only thing I have macroed together is rouse and whispering dawn and both speed buffs on one macro for Selene. Everything else has its own separate macro.
I have four macros. One uses embrace, the second uses whispering dawn/ silence etc. Etc. So it will just use whatever ability is available for the pet. Not really a big fan of tying skills together otherwise.
You need to micro it to be the most efficient possible. Think of Embrace as a ~3 second CD with no animation lock. You should be pressing Embrace every ~3 seconds. If your fairy is just hanging out, you're not pressing it hard enough.
If you don't know what lactic acid buildup feels like, you will soon.
I macro embrace to Physick, Adlo and Leech.
Then, i place a solo embrace on my toolbar as well as below:-
[Solo Embrace] [ Embrace + Physick] [Embrace + Adlo] [ Rouse + Illum + WD] [Succor] [ Embrace + Leech]
So, when i want to split my heal, i use solo embrace on target A and then use my own heal on target B.
This way, i can focus fairy healing on MT while not losing the ability to split my heal when needed.
I have embrace on a mouseover macro. Mouse 3, specifically. It's more work but I feel it's the best way. One of the main reasons is because I dance in and out of cleric stance often and frequently heal strictly with the fairy. Or if I just need to split heals. I don't bind it to any other abilities because I am not always/constantly using those abilities, and I feel embrace needs to be used for pretty much every second of any fight.
As others have said, I macro embrace with my own heals (Embrace+Physick) (Embrace+Aldo), but I also put Embrace on the bar too. If I want/need to split, I cast solo embrace first then my own heal.
I have separated out Rouse though. I used to have it macroed with FI and WD, but found that there were times it was nice to have Rouse readily available and WD w/o FI or Rouse was sufficient.
I would also recommend macroing Embrace to your damage dealing skills. By way of example:
/micon "Bio II"
/ac "Bio II" <tt>
/ac "Bio II" <t>
/pac "Embrace" <f>
/pac "Embrace" <2>
I use 2 because that's where I put my tank, but you can change that.
yes you should, make a test, heal T4 leaving Eos at her will and another with Eos macroed skills, you'll see the diference
