Computer Crashing?
I have been playing since first beta up until now, NEVER had a problem, then the past two days ffxiv would all the sudden freeze and the sound would get "stuck" (idk how to explain the sound, just annoying noise lol) and I would have to hard reset my computer. The first time it happened I looked and my video drivers had an update, so I updated, played later that night without issues, then it happened again today!
I fear playing until I know I have resolved this because I really don't think such things are good for the computer and don't want to put it through that.
I fail to see how it could be an overheating problem... it has had since September to overheat, nothing has changed now so it makes no sense that it all the sudden overheats lol. NOT TO MENTION I play my other mmo's on my computer without a problem.
Does anyone know how to potentially fix this? Graphics card drivers are up to date now and it still happened and it is not overheating, so idk...

1) over heating (September is 4 months ago a lot can happen dust wise in 4 months) I clean mine monthly
2) PSU spiking voltage causing everything to crash ? how old is your PSU ?
3) corrupt file in the games installation/patch can just randomly happen
4) Overclocked GPU ? just because its stable 2 months ago all can change
5) CPU thermal paste needs replacing ? this is overheating that is hard to monitor and can cause crashes
EDIT : if you crash to a black screen 9 out of 10 is heat, are you monitoring your system with anything to get temps ?
