Severe lag since 2.1 (yes another thread about this)

My ISP (AT&T UVerse) and SE customer support have both told me they can do nothing about the constant lag I have had while playing this game after patch 2.1. I had very few issues with lag before this. I have no issues with any other internet related thing in my house. I can play any other game online on my PS3 without an issue. The fact that neither side wants to accept blame is atrocious. At least SE support have been very helpful with troubleshooting.

The following is a wall of text:

- Reset the router (Duh)
- I've always had a wired connection (also duh) and the cable is less than 6 feet long
- Had an ISP technician out, he worked on some lines and then "opened up the ports for the game"
- I use "" because he opened the ports on his device, not my PS3, so after much research and help from SE support I opened the ports on my own
- ISP tech gives me a new router. 2Wire 3801HGV...it's a router and modem in one.
- I then temporarily put my PS3 into "DMZ mode" completely bypassing the firewall
- Renewed my IP address (unplugging the router for 40 minutes)
- Flushed DNS
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the game, deleting every file and cookie and cache along the way
- Took my PS3 over to a friend's house (also UVerse, basically everyone I know has UVerse around here and none of them play games online) and had the same issues. SE suggested this.
- Wrote a thread in this forum

I plan on posting this on every relevant forum (reddit, AT&T, etc) until I either get a definitive answer, get banned from all the forums, or the end of my monthly plan with this game comes up and I deactivate my account. I don't plan on posting my conversations with either side's tech support because it was all over the phone/email/chat and I'd probably be accused of altering it anyway.

I would love to switch to a different ISP at this point considering how poor the customer service has been with AT&T UVerse...but there's that contract thing. Blargh.

You left out all the important things that comes with internet... Whats your speed I run 30 down and 5 up and guess what I still lag, I still freeze... Your signal is sent on the internets super highway and guess what when there is traffic you slow down... Period the end, blame SE Blame ATT&T blame who ever you want but your still gonna have the same issue... Personally I think the ps3 cant process and render things fast enough and that what contributes to the lag but I will let you know for sure when I can switch my account to the ps4...

My speed's typically around 18 down and 2 up, not great I know but it seems to work fine for most everything else. I play during the day the most often, 8 A.M. - 2 P.M. EST so not even near peak hours. It could be the PS3, I agree. I'm wary to make a switch to PS4 for one game though. There's nothing else for that system that I want currently. And I rarely if ever had any lag issues before 2.1 except for Odin. :)

18 down and 2 up is more than enough to run this game smoothly, in all honesty. It's not that network heavy. A lot of people have been having this issue and most have been having it strictly with this game alone. Wish I could put something constructive in here but unfortunately I can't. =[ I've been having this issue as well, but it seems to be effecting more and more people as the days go by. Hopefully Square Enix will take an honest look at this.

I am seeing the exact opposite in most cases. Titan HM lag has gone almost all the way away for me...I can now dodge plumes without pre-dodging all the time...although I still do out of habit and just to be sure. I love doing Titan HM with WHM now because I can use sprint....LOL....it is soooo nice! However I have seen alot of lag in the CT...that was not suppose to happen....I am on a PS3 using Comcast Wifi cable internet.

It's nice to know that my down/up speeds should be sufficient. I've read a lot of other similar posts during my research. It sucks that so many people seem to be having an issue only with this game with no solid solution in sight. I would be hopeful that SE is taking an honest look at this...but after four different customer support agents have told me it's not a problem that they can address...
And Titan HM...that really taught me how to dodge. And, by that, I mean pre-dodging. And using Scathe even though they nerfed its potency. Even Titan didn't ruin the fun I've had playing this game. The lag has.
Waiting for the PS4 version or putting together the funds for a gaming PC is not really an option for me any time soon.
