Expansion of the Binding Coil of Bahamut

I did a search for a topic to speculate and discuss the upcoming expansion to the Binding Coil of Bahamut and didn't find one, so here it is.

Obviously a lot of these questions will be answered in next weeks Live Letter, but in the meanwhile, let's consider the possibilities.

• Access to the new area(s).

I think this could go one of two ways. Turn 6 would make sense; you defeat Turns 1-5 then straight onto 6. I don't really see a problem with this approach as it would give Free Companies more to do each week.

On the other hand, maybe after defeating Twintania you will all gain access to another entrance into the Binding Coil of Bahamut, as there are many to be found throughout Eorzea. It would be better still if groups were able to start this new section without having to do 1-5 each week; just so long as they've at least done it once already.

• Loot

People are starting to farm Twintania on a regular basis now and it won't be long before we see a lot of Allagan weapons flooding Mor Dhona. What do you all think we will be seeing loot wise? Random loot drops of 95-100 item level gear perhaps? Maybe some Mor Dhona tokens to buy AF2? I'm not so sure on what gear we'll be seeing, but I have high hopes.

• Difficulty

Looking back on the Binding Coil of Bahamut; Twintania was near unbeatable at launch with her unforgiving Twisters. Even now, the leap from Turn 4 to 5 is still huge. Will we be seeing another giant leap moving on into the new areas or will we be seeing more steady and gear dependant encounters like 1-4?

• Enemies

Any ideas on the sort of enemies we might be facing further into the depths of the Binding Coil of Bahamut? I'm excited to see what they throw at us.

They already told us that you DO NOT need to complete turns 1-5 WEEKLY (you do at least once though to complete the quests) to access 6-10. There is also a new token being released similar to Philo/Myth.

The gating on new players shouldn't be so bad as they'll probably make twin easier in 2.2 when they release new turns.

what does that mean? why would any player think they should be in Turn 6 if they haven't finished Turn 5.

and isn't that the same as EX Primals? pretty sure those need Titan HM clear before you can do them.

It is because of the Coil Storyline.

Coil Storyline serves as a prequel to the future fight with Bahamut. Explaining events that will lead to that point of the Main Scenario Storyline. Currently Nael Deus Darnus and Louisoix play a key role in this storyline and most likely will play as key characters once we reach that point in Main Scenario story as a future Main Scenario.

People who miss out of Coil storyline once this part of the Main Story Scenario is released will still at least get some cmall recap about what happened in the Coil Storyline.

This is all speculation but I guess this is what will happen :

- They will add the power buff for turn 1-5 after you wipe once (in other words, nerf it).
- Labyrinth of Bahamut, or whatever it will be called, will drop ilvl 110 Allagan v2.
- A new type of tomestones will be added, used to purchase ilvl 110 AFv2.
- The cap on mytho will be lifted and Hero's gear will basically become the new Darklight.
- They could as well add new crafting items to buy with mytho, à la philo (there are still some stats combinations we don't have on ilvl 90 gear).
- It might be a good time to increase the level cap and add musketeer.

Basically, I think 2.2 will be 2.0 all over again.
2.3 would bring ilvl 100 on Crystal Tower and would be 2.1 all over again.

All in all, nothing to be excited about.

I'm actually curious about how SE expects new people to clear Titan HM (who is and always will be a pita) to continue with the story, when older players are doing way higher content.

Then there's Twintania, who isn't even on the DF and has lockouts...

I honestly can't say why one would expect to skip a whole set of turns.

Iirc the only mentioned change will be the echo buff. Mechanics will still kill the group regardless.

That is, if one can even find a group for her. Between lockouts and obsolete rewards, you'd have to be lucky in finding other 7 people who needs the win, and can deal with all the wipes.

you can still Party Finder and ask for help, some people farm it for the i80 weapons for their off jobs.

and if they add a new tier of Tomes and uncap Myth people in full Myth gear can probably just eat Weights and Bombs which makes most of the fight not that hard.
