I can't access my character in the game

So I started today by going into final fantasy 14 to play with my character that I have progress a lot with.I log in and then press start game in the title screen and it says to choose a server which i already did long ago and found it odd that it's telling to choose again but i did as instructed and bought it was gonna take me to the character selection screen and to my surprise it started like when you first play this game with an introduction to the game like I'm new and don't have a character which i do but there is not enough information for me to determine why did my character i worked so hard to level up got deleted or something and then i went to the lodestone and saw that my character is there with all progress but every time i go to the game i can't access my character.I don't know how to talk to a developer or someone that can help me cause I'm new to this game but I am learning as i go to learn and get better,

Log in to Mogstation to check if your character is listed.

you try changing the data center to "Primal" then try start and see if your character shows up?

I was here before that update and i choose primal cause my server is there and it didn't work
