How did you guys level these? I'm only in my 20's for Botany and I wanna kill myself whenever I attempt to level it up...
I know they buffed the experience for both but it still feels insanely slow/tacky/boring
tips? I've been doing leves designed for my level but it's so boring and slow :(
Do I actually need 50 mining/botany to max my crafting? I heard price for mats went down with 2.1
There isnt really any other way except grinding or leves and since that's boring for you, you might wanna level a different job.
Leves with manuals from your GC is the quickest way.
Price of mats went down for some things, but I'm frugal and would rather spend a little time and gather something myself than spend money, unless it's dirt cheap. I'd rather spend 20 mins gathering than 6k on the MB for a stack of mats.
I knuckled down one weekend and did a marathon mining spree while watching movies. You really just have to grind it out, leves are pretty much useless (see not worth the time for return) at low levels, just save them all for the 40-50 dash (makes this go very quickly). Other than that, make sure you deck yourself out in HQ gear as much as possible and keep upgrading so you can mine at the best spots for your level.
After 30 I did it mostly through leves. I'd do four to six a day: two to three for each. But I'd also farm my own mats for crafting, and that helps, too.
Maybe they should add Gathering dailies, similar to the Roulette boost

Leves definitely. I had 99 saved up since I had no use for them and I from a lv 10 botanist to a 50 in just a few mind numbing days only to find out that higher lv mats cost roughly the same as the lower lv ones.
Now that I know better spending gc seals for a survival manual will help boost it.
Also hq gathering gear every 5-10 levels will help.
Combining resting bonuses +food+ maybe fc helping hand will help tremendously.
I only picked the leves that give bonuses. There are ones that give bonuses for each successful attempt after a certain number. I didn't even bother with the other ones that were offered. The leves give potions too. The potions are really pretty useless after 50. So use them to get GP for that max exp bonus on the leves that give bonuses.
How did leaves get boring? Its stupidly fast to level Miner and Botanist with them. You should only be in an area for an hour or before getting five levels and moving onto a new area.
People telling you Leves are not worth it .... yea thats not really true. In your 35-40's you can get 75-90k a pop for leves. The ones in Coertheas give nearly 90k (as long as you do the right one, Mythril madness is one of them)
