I am getting that bug, too. Same suspicious coffer, I believe, right under the tree near the cliff.

I am also on Ultros. I, however, picked up the quest on my BLM and I'm in a party.

Tried abandoning it and re-picking it up; same thing. Also encountered someone else who has the same problem.

Same thing is happening to me. and to everyone who get that chest in their quest, nobody in ultros can get a sylph out of that chest...

Bug is happening to me right now as we speak, unable to complete the quest. This is rather annoying.
