Blank Launch window

I tried to update my comp to windows 8.1 this morning and it failed for some reason. When I tried to connect to FFXIV afterwards, all I could see on the launch window was the language selection box. I tried rebooting, uninstalling, deleting the folders in my user file. I still don't see anything except that box. I even tried to system restore, but that also failed. Does anyone know anything about this?

Ok, I want to give a bit of an update to this complaint. After more tweaking, I finally got the game to come up with more than just the box, but I'm still having issues. The links that are supposed to be in the lower left are in the upper left before I put my username and password in, then part of them jump to the lower right and the game gets a spinning wheel in the top right showing that it is trying to update. And then it stops, but doesn't give any error messages or indications on if the wheel not spinning is good or bad. I can't update the game so I can't play. I also have no way of knowing if there are some stray files that 8.1 tried to install that is preventing the game from acting properly.

Since I found it hard to describe what I was seeing when I pull up the launcher, I decided to post a pic. Sorry for the poor quality, I couldn't figure out any other way to take a picture beside using my cell phone.

Oh, and for good measure, here's what I get while it tries to install files after I put in my info. You can see that it doesn't show what it is doing at all.

Really weird, as if something is messing with the loading of the pages (they are a bunch of frames each containing web pages).
Do you have any kind of software that could conflict with it? Antivirus and such.

I'm having this same exact issue, but with my PS3 version!

Ive had thsi happen before. I think it just went away by itself eventually though. it was like something wrong on their end.

I contacted Square Support and they were no help... The guy said at the end of the chat, which took about an hour, that they wont be able to refund any game time due to this error. Totally sucks because I just renewed my sub. the day this happened! But my issue didn't start until the newest Launcher version came out.

Well, the launcher still looks like this, but apparently it took pity on me last night and finished the reinstall because all of a sudden, I noticed the spinning thing had been replaced by a play button. So I can at least play again, but I can't figure out why my launcher won't load properly.

And now my launcher has fixed itself so you guys can move this to the resolved issues. Not sure what fixed it, though.
