Hey SE, let's play "spot the gil farmers"...

The personal spamming has picked up of late on Mateus. My blacklist is at 185/200 and the general spamming for gil has returned as well.
Upon looking at the players in the player search, one can plainly see who the farmers are...
They are grouped up, level 50's in the same zone, named FGDTDFFT GHTGHT(or close) and are all lined up one after the other in the list.
FFS SE, take a look! Ban these clowns. They are fucking up the economy, filling players blists and generally griefing all of the legitimate players trying to play your game.

i love the ease of blacklisting these spammers now..............BUT.....if they send you that gil spam as a personal message they cannot be blacklisted,when trying to block them it says this person cannot be found <<<<<<<<<< this is getting on my nerves as of late

You can blacklist from a tell the same way. What they are doing is spamming out tells and immediately logging out so you cannot blacklist them. We need to be allowed to blacklist an account. And when an account gets permanent banned, they are auto-removed from our blacklist. I hit the 200 limit twice, cleared it out, and now back up to almost 100'again.

Also, blacklisting by itself does nothing. Need to also report them for cheating.

SE should have a feature (if they don't already) where if several people all blacklist the same character within a short timeframe, it automatically generates a report for the GMs to check out. There's going to be either gil spam or harassment involved when that pattern happens, and it should be an easy enough pattern for software to detect. (SE would have to decide on suitable values for "several" and "short".)

That and allowing us to blacklist characters regardless of whether they're online or not would let them know who all the gil spammers are pretty quickly. (Then it's just a matter of following up on those reports and quickly banning any account that's sending this garbage.)
